		<description>Hi Carmel,

Please, please, please do not give up on writing. I do see a lot of potential in you. I see you&#039;ve
written non-fiction before. However, fiction is a whole new ballgame. My strong recommendation is that

you set this book aside for a while, leave this group and join the Practice-W group of IWW. They give you
a theme every week. You&#039;re supposed to come up with a 400-piece word piece based on that theme. There
are a lot of people who critique, and give great advice. Stay on that list and learn from it. And the

key to handling crits is to not take it personally, work on your weak points (even seasoned writers
have them) and improve your writing. I&#039;m positive you&#039;ll go far.

Though I myself edit technical books, I&#039;m terrible at fiction (though I&#039;m working on it).

Once you get the hang of writing fiction (and it is a learned art, believe me), you&#039;ll be able to
work on your book.

You might want to get a copy of: Self-Editing for Fiction writers. Browne &amp; King. I highly recommend it.

Good luck!

		<description>Dear Rasana
I am new at fiction writing. I have always been interested in non fiction - love the research that goes with that.
I really appreciate your comments about Hidden Valley and take them all on board. I have received so many negative comments that I thought I would give it all away and go back to my family history, but you have given me new hope. You are the first on the novels list who said you actually enjoyed reading it
I would like to send you more for comment, off the list. I make this suggestion because your bio on this page says you do book editing. I am not sure how book editing works.
Please let me know if I am out of line.
